Introducing HEPA Filters

HEPA stands for High Energy Particulate Air filter.

It has a filtering rate of 99.97% for particles larger than 0.3 um (micron). In comparison, the human hair has a diameter of 0.05 - 0.15mm (1mm = 1000um).

In other words, HEPA is able to filter extremely small particles that are 1/200 to 1/500 to the size of the human hair, at 99.97% efficiency!
